Christina Jahl and Renee Archer have been selected as Disaster Preparedness Coordinators to pioneer a new preparedness initiative in conjunction with the Nashua Office of Emergency Management. The program will lead the Nashua OEM in increasing the preparedness level of the community over the next 10 months. They will provide necessary planning support to organize and manage large scale Days of Service related to community resilience in Nashua and engage the community with special events, trainings, outreach, and volunteer involvement.
With a background in healthcare, Christina has been practicing as a Registered Nurse since 2009 with over ten years of progressive experience in the healthcare field. She graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a minor in Psychology. In 2012, Christina achieved a Master of Science in Emergency Management from Massachusetts Maritime Academy. She maintains her certification as a Basic Life Support CPR instructor as well as Pediatric and Adult Advanced Life Support CPR certifications. Christina resides in Amesbury, Massachusetts with her husband, Stephan and pets, Joey and Rozzi.
Renee received a B.S. in Exercise Science and Health promotion from Central Connecticut State University in 2010, and has worked in the fitness and wellness industry as a personal trainer for over six years. She is also the proud coach of the Nashua North Girls’ Cross Country and Track & Field programs. She recently achieved a Masters in Public Health from Nova Southeastern University, and is eager to put that knowledge to use to improve community health. Renee currently lives in Nashua where she was born and raised.
Christina and Renee will be working to help coordinate the Nashua Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) as well as The Greater Nashua Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD). They are available to assist in the planning and production of preparedness drills and exercises, the training of staff in preparedness and safety, the conduction of Red Cross Ready Rating Assessments, and in the development, updating, and integration of emergency plans.
