The Nashua Fire Marshall's Office is responsible to review all plans and inspect work to see that it conforms to all relative building and Life Safety codes.
The City of Nashua is currently utilizing the State Fire Code as the standard which references NFPA 101 Life Safety Code 2009 Edition, NFPA 1 Uniform Fire Code 2009 Edition, NFPA 13 Sprinkler Code 2009 Edition and NFPA 72 Fire Alarm Code 2010 Edition.
The Fire Marshall's Office is open Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00 pm. This division is also tasked with fire investigation, fire and life safety inspectional services, fire plan review and public education and injury prevention programs.
The Nashua Fire Rescue's ultimate goal is to reduce the incidents of fire and the damage and injury that result. When fires do break and the cause needs to be determined the Fire Marshal's Office handles those investigations. All Fire Investigators are certified and receive extensive training in fire ground investigation. Fire scene investigations take a great deal of time and Fire Investigators work in conjunction with the Nashua Police Department in building cases where criminal prosecution is sought.
