TEMPORARY PLATES
Temporary plates are available at the following New Hampshire Department of Motor Vehicle locations: Concord (603) 271-2251; Milford (603) 672-3109; Manchester (603) 669-9261; Salem (603) 893-8734.
LICENSE PLATES
The Registration Fee is based on gross weight of vehicle and month of birth of the registrant. New Hampshire has a staggered registration system for motor vehicles based on the month of renewal or assigned month for leases/company vehicles. The State Registration Fee (License Plates/Decals for Nashua residents only) is collected by the City Municipal Office and forwarded to the State of New Hampshire Department of Safety.
APPLICATION FOR WALKING DISABILITY PRIVILEGES
Any motor vehicle carrying the special plates or the hanging placard issued to a person with a walking disability under RSA 261:88…shall be allowed free parking in any city or town, including any state or municipal parking facility where a fee is charged, for a continuous period of not more than 24 hours. The free parking shall only be allowed if the person who qualifies for the special plates or hanging placard is being
transported in the vehicle to or from the parking place. (Free parking privileges do not apply to reserved parking spaces.)
The Application for Walking Disability Privileges form is available from the Department of Safety, Division of Motor Vehicles, Attn: Handicap Desk, 10 Hazen Drive, Concord, NH 03305, or obtained on-line at http://www.nh.gov/safety/divisions/dmv/forms/rdmv130.pdf . Applicants must complete the form and will also need to have the certification section completed by a medical doctor attesting that in his/her professional opinion, the applicant has a walking disability.
