The purpose of the Ethics Review Committee is to hear complaints solely of violation of Part 5 of Chapter 5, Administration of Government, § 5-93 et seq., of the City Code and not any state conduct statute.
The Ethics Review Committee is comprised of five regular members and three alternate members, appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the Board of Aldermen. Regular and alternate members of the Committee shall not be regular or special municipal employees nor have immediate family members who are regular or special municipal employees.
Regular and alternate members shall serve a three-year term. Reappointments shall be permitted, but members not confirmed shall not hold office three months past expiration of their term. Alternate members may be reappointed as regular members.
