Payroll and Compensation is responsible for:
- The compensation of approximately 2,700 employees, inclusive of all City and School District employees (approximately $110,000,000)
- Weekly and biweekly payrolls
- The administration and compliance with regulations relating to all payroll deductions inclusive of taxes, pensions, garnishments, union dues, etc
- An integral role in the collective bargaining process, including cost analysis and agreement implementation
- Providing and analyzing payroll and payroll-related data for the City’s annual budgetary process
- Providing and maintaining the related database programming and ensuring the accuracy of data entered
- Programming for Human Resources
- Reporting to State and Federal agencies
