Asbestos handling, packaging, transporting and disposal are strictly regulated by federal and state rules. The Four Hills Landfill may accept asbestos from sites in Nashua, with the following requirements:
Residential
Residential Property Owners are allowed to bring asbestos from their home to the Landfill for disposal, but first:

Must submit an application (available at the Solid Waste Department office),

Comply with packaging and labeling regulations,

Call the Solid Waste Department at least 24 hours before arrival,

Deliver the Asbestos Containing Material (ACM) before noon, Monday through Friday
- Pay the disposal fee of $200/ton

Residents must have a valid Landfill Permit.
Non-Residential
Non-Residential Property Owners must comply with the National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants by:

Hiring a certified asbestos abatement firm to remove the asbestos

Completing a “Waste Shipment Record”

Notifying the Solid Waste Department at least 24 hours before arrival,

Deliver the ACM before noon, Monday through Friday
-
Paying the tipping fee of $200/ton.
