Automated Trash Collection
Collection Carts
The Division of Public Works, Solid Waste Department provides one trash cart for each residential unit that is served by the department, to be used for regular household trash. The special cart is made of sturdy plastic with a rugged handle, attached cover and large wheels so it's easily moved, even when full. The cart is the only acceptable container for trash - no other containers will be picked up. Carts remain the property of the City of Nashua and may not be moved from the assigned property. Each cart has an identification number on the front that is registered to a specific address. Record the ID number of your cart.
Residents are responsible for ensuring that carts are kept clean and not defaced; do not add any signs or lettering to the cart.
Note: Only these special carts will be picked up in the automated collection program. (Nashua Revised Ordinances, Chapter 270) View the trash and recycling schedule page.
